We visited while on holiday in the area. The lady who greeted us was very friendly and thorough with the safety checks. We've been to centres where we haven't been asked to prove competence before so thought the emphasis on it here was excellent. The climbs are varied and interesting, the addition of autobelays is a really good thing. Nice to have bouldering in the centre too. Overall we had a really enjoyable afternoon and would recommend giving this centre a visit.

Fantastic converted church into a climbing centre. The staff are great and the walls refreshed regularly. Great bouldering options. My 80 year father and 9 year old daughter love it! Tells you everything you need to know!

Scaling New Heights at Overhang: A Climber’s Sanctuary of Expertise and HeartnnOverhang stands as a local gem—a climbing centre that melds safety, inspiration, and community with a truly unmatched ethos. Every visit reaffirms why it remains the crown jewel for climbers of every calibre. John's ever-willing hands are always ready to assist, ensuring that no one is left hanging. Meanwhile, Helena’s unwavering kindness and unparalleled organisational skills keeping everything running smoothly—she’s truly the ying to John's chaos yang. Coupled with Belle’s attentive care, Maddie’s infectious and fun spirit, Luke’s lovely demeanour, and Emily’s consistently warm nature, you have a team that transforms every climb into a masterclass of reliability and support.

Every climb at Overhang is a chance to grab life by its chalk bag and rise to the occasion. The walls here aren’t just obstacles—they’re opportunities to reach new heights in every sense of the word. With every carefully spaced hold and twisty route, you’re reminded that sometimes the best way to deal with life's ups and downs is to take a firm grip and let your spirit ascend. As you navigate steep challenges and relish those exhilarating moments, you’ll find that each ascent writes its own story—a journey that’s as much about laughter and light-hearted banter as it is about determination and grit. So, strap in, keep your feet—and your humour—firmly planted, and prepare to scale experiences that are truly uplifting!

Thank you, Overhang, for making every ascent a laugh-out-loud journey—on that note, What do you call a ghost that climbs? A boo-lder!

What a fabulous use of space and transformation.

    Staff were friendly and helpful.

Booking in advance is better as you might get onto a group session but otherwise the bouldering and crash mats are great.

Cafe inside too so all you need and plenty of time offered in a booking.

Registration takes a few minutes so be aware of that - Be good if this could be done in advance on the website. (Apologies if it can be, we did not see)

All in all a great experience.

We went here for sons birthday as we were staying in the area, I recommend booking if there are a few of you, as you need to fill in the registration form before.
The parking is limited within the church grounds. Within our group, we had different age ranges, but the worker was great with them all, making everyone feel at ease with talking and giving advice with reassurance. Nothing was too much trouble. We had an hour and a half slot, but after the time, they could stay for as long as they wanted to climb in the area upstairs.
They sold cold and hot drinks , cakes, and pringles small pots,.
Well worth the money and definitely visit again if in the area.

Visited for the first time today for a taster session.
The staff member was very friendly, patient, and is clearly very knowledgeable.
Really nice to have the option of climbing and bouldering.
Lovely to see a centre which clearly caters well and genuinely welcomes all ages and abilities.
Looking forward to my next visit.

Visited Overhang with a couple of mates for a chilled climbing session. My first time at this establishment was brilliant. Rented the kit from the lovely staff, very reasonable price for how long we booked for.
Started on the bouldering wall. Not pestered by the staff at all, kept an eye on safety but didn't impede at all.
Then moved to the large climbing wall, and once again, staff monitored us but let us enjoy ourselves.
I've still got blisters on my feet but that's a sign we enjoyed, eh? Brilliant place, will be visiting again.
